Since it was founded in 2000, the Third Coast Festival has been exploring ways to lift radio off the airwaves bring it into the world, in communal, public spaces. To that end we host listening events in Chicago and beyond – sometimes even far beyond: Listening Rooms, the Third Coast Filmless Festival, and assorted audio adventures at schools, community organizations, and other documentary festivals nationwide.

We also organize a bi-annual conference where audio makers from around the world gather to share skills, experiences, and philosophies, and to build new collaborations. And to dance.

The next Conference is scheduled for fall, 2012.
